The test for web site design

Here is a simple test you can do to see whether your supplier is up to speed with efficient web site design.

Is it clear in the first sentence of the first page what you do, and the purpose of the web site? If there are only images, the answer is an emphatic "No".

Does the site rank highly in web search engines?

Does the navigator answer "where am I, where have I been, where can I go?"

Does the site adapt gracefully when the window size is reduced, or does content "fall off the edge"?

Is the site fully enabled for text-to-speech readers and text-only viewing?

Does it still work if Flash or other media cannot be played, without displaying annoying prompts?
